D-Link DAP-1320 Setup
D-Link DAP-1320 is a Wi-Fi 6 enabled wireless router that has helped users boost their online experience with a host of features. Embedded features like MU-MIMO, and more can be used to access the internet seamlessly. If you have purchased a new router, the next step is knowing how to proceed with the setup.
Beginning with the D-Link DAP-1320 setup
Before you begin with the setup process, it is important to make sure you have the following
equipment in place:
- Your computer system/ internet enabled smartphone
- A pair of ethernet cables
- DSL Modem
- D-Link router device
Also, make sure you do not have any third-party software like firewalls or antivirus installed on your computer system.
The D-Link DAP-1320 setup process using the D-Link Wi-Fi App
The smartphone app for your D-Link router allows users like you to install and configure the router using your smartphone from anywhere. To begin, you can download the D-Link Wi-Fi
App from your device’s respective app store. If you have already downloaded the same,
you’ll need to make sure it is on the latest version.
- Once you have downloaded the latest version of the app, launch it on your smartphone.
- On the home screen of the app interface, click on the “Install New Device” button.
- On the next screen, click on “Scan the QR Code” to scan the code located on the installation card. If you want, you can also proceed using the “Continue without scanning” button.
- Select the Router option from the next window and select the model number i.e. DAP-1320 from the list of models. Click on the “Next” button to continue.
Now follow the on-screen instructions step-by-step to complete the D-Link DAP-1320 setup
process. Once finished, you can begin accessing the internet seamlessly.
Using the web-based setup page
- Open the web-browser and type the web address http://dlinkrouter.local in the address bar. You can also use the IP address i.e. 192.168.0.1.
- If this is your first time logging in to the page and there’s no connection between the devices, you can login using the password shown on the device label or the Quick Installation Guide.
- On the start screen, agree to the terms of use and the privacy policy before proceeding.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your new D-Link DAP-1320 router and connect to the internet. Click on the Next button to proceed.
- The router will now detect the internet connection type. If it does not, automatically, a list of connection types to choose from, will be displayed on the screen. You can now select your Internet connection type. You can obtain this information from your ISP.
- Once selected, click on the Next button to proceed further.
- If the router detects or you select PPPoE, type the username and the password in the respective fields. If you do not have this information, you can contact your ISP. Click on the Next button to continue.
- Or, if you have selected Static as the connection type, you’ll be required to enter the IP and DNS settings. You can get this information from your ISP. Once entered, click on the Next button.
- You will now need to define SSID and a strong password for your D-Link router network.
- Once done, you can save the changes and restart the device. Once restarted, you can begin accessing the internet seamlessly.
